HELP (Healthcare and Elder Law Programs)
H.E.L.P. (Healthcare and Elder Law Programs Corporation) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering older adults and their families by providing impartial information, education and counseling on elder care, law, finances and consumer protection so they may lead lives with security and dignity.

Community Dental Care
Offered in partnership with a fine area Dental practice, this program makes basic dental care available to South Bay neighbors. Thanks to the efforts of a skilled Dentist and his dedicated team, people with limited or no dental insurance can receive basic services to improve and maintain their dental health. FirstServe coordinates all applications for assistance, in cooperation with the Dental office.

Care Portal
The CarePortal brings the needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Child welfare workers uncover the needs, CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. Through the leveraging power of a simple email and geo-targeting, CarePortal connects you to the needs of foster children and hurting families in your community.

NAMI South Bay
NAMI South Bay is an affiliate of National and State NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). NAMI South Bay serves the general area from El Segundo on the north to Palos Verdes on the south; from the Beach Cities on the west to Carson/Wilmington on the east. NAMI South Bay has regular monthly meetings with a Caring and Sharing Support Group and Speaker Sessions, Family to Family and Familia de Familia Programs, Peer to Peer and Connections Programs (ongoing support group for persons with a mental illness). NAMI meets the third Monday of the month in the Faith Hall at First Lutheran Church, Torrance beginning at 6pm for support groups and
speaker at 7:30pm

Family Promise
Family Promise is a community-based approach, engaging both the local community, as well as houses of faith in the effort to combat family homelessness. Guests in our program receive a full complement of resources, support, and services as they work toward their own stability and self-reliance.

AA
Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. AA meetings are held at First Lutheran Church on Thurs eves. at 6:45 in the Fireside Room.

Al-Anon
Al-Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.

Lutheran Social Services
LSS has a legacy of meeting needs . . . of the poor, underserved and powerless regardless of race, creed or orientation. Serving individuals and families by providing tangible goods and services such as food pantries & hot meals, clothing, emergency vouchers for hotel, bus, gas and utilities, housing and rental referrals, eviction prevention and prescription assistance, holiday, school or hygiene packs, humanitarian response during times of natural or man-made disasters and other short-term assistance programs.

Stillman Sawyer Center
The Stillman Center offers a variety of assistance to individuals and families. These services include the food bank, back to school backpacks & supplies, Christmas toys & food, referrals, job search assistance, and A/C & Refrigeration Vocational Training Courses for families, couples and individuals who live in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. (Torrance, Lomita, Carson, Harbor City, and Wilmington)
